Estimator
Due to our continued growth we are looking for an Estimator to join us! If you have an eye for detail, are good at meeting deadlines and have great time management, then this is a great opportunity to join our team. You’ll need to be experienced, be able to prioritise estimates, be efficient and confident in your decision making as well as ensuring that pricing is specification compliant.
Responsibilities
- Attend meetings such as pre-tender, mid-bid and post-tender as required.
- You will be part of developing estimates for large and complex projects. This will include working alongside the pre-construction team to make robust tenders are produced and include the latest project information.
- Prepare tender analysis documents such as in-depth review of attendances, basis of price, programme, scope of works, specifications, drawings and any unique conditions as required.
- Ensure that tender documents are correct and confirm we have the essential details to offer an accurate and compliant bid.
- Work with the Estimating Manager to ensure tender bids are carried out and returned to ensure deadlines are met.
- Arrange, attend and lead handover meetings of projects from start to finish
- Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with your team at Flortec Ltd, clients and suppliers alike.
- To ensure that the Operation and Commercial team understand the conditions of contract.
- Attend evaluation sessions with our estimating department, project managers and directors to suggest new ideas and reflect on how we can improve the service we offer for future projects.
Requirements
- 1 – 3 years construction estimating experience preferred
- A self motivator who is confident when speaking with clients
- A good level of written and spoken English and numeracy
- A strong understanding of estimating principles
- Experience of using software applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Access and Word
Preferred although not essential, familiarity with Callidus and ability to read and digitize construction plans.
Flortec Ltd offer a competitive salary and bonus scheme. Standard hours of work are Monday to Friday 8.00am-5pm, however some flexibility may be required when working towards deadlines.
