Quantity Surveyor
The Quantity Surveyor (QS) will be responsible for managing costs relating to our Flooring and Tiling projects. The QS should deliver projects on budget and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality. You will need to be familiar with the processes of tendering, contract reviews & negotiation, preparation and submissions of applications and subcontract variations.
Responsibilities
- Managing costs on a variety of construction and fit out projects
- Assisting with preparing and analysing costings for tenders.
- Being responsible for the certification of subcontractor & supplier payments.
- Working with the project team to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget & to a high standard.
- Working with the project team to ensure prompt conclusion of final accounts and collection of retentions.
- Production of financial reports for presentation to directors.
- Liaising with clients all levels ensuring that you represent the Company in a professional manner at all times.
- Completing any other tasks that are deemed within your area of competence
Requirements
- Previous experience as a QS
- Previous experience of Flooring or Tiling is preferred but not essential.
- Previous experience of Quantity Surveying within a specialist subcontractor preferred but not essential.
- Experienced in reviewing, negotiating and administering contract terms & conditions.
- Self-motivated with the desire to develop a career in a progressive company.
- Good negotiation and communication skills
- Experience of major forms of sub-contract.
- Contractually astute
- Have a proven track record of working within a busy customer focused organisation
- High level of computer literacy in Microsoft Office packages
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
